Pilates Weekend Beginners Guide

You may be wondering what to expect from one of our Pilates weekend retreats, well, Pilates of course! But there is much more to it than that. First of all, you may want to know what a Pilates weekend actually is. During our retreat, we combine low impact, controlled exercise sessions with other relaxing activities.

Pilates aims to recharge your batteries whilst making you feel relaxed and improving your fitness levels. The purpose of our reformer retreats Pilates weekend is to dedicate a weekend to Pilates, mindfulness and self care.

What are the benefits of a Pilates Weekend?

During the 3 day retreat there will be the option to participate in up to 2 reformer classes, 3 sunset meditation sessions and 4 mat classes. During the weekend there will be plenty of down time to chill and enjoy the relaxing ambience of the stay. There are many benefits that come with attending our pilates weekend, such as:

  • Better posture
  • Stronger core
  • Reduced back pain
  • Increased balance
  • Better movement
  • Improved mental wellbeing
  • Stress relief

What is included in the Pilates Weekend?

On top of the amazing pilates sessions led by our expert instructors Sophie and Louise, there will be a mixture of other activities available at the event. As Reformer Retreats is a luxury experience, we wanted to go above and beyond other fitness retreats.

Between the pilates classes and meditation sessions, there will be a series of wellness talks available to attend. The topics covered include the menopause and life coaching. On top of that, for the adventure seekers- we are providing you with the opportunity to try stand up paddle boarding, don't worry all equipment is included as are the instructors.

Whilst you’re away you don’t need to worry about food and drinks either. Upon arrival you will be greeted with a welcome cocktail or mocktail followed by a three course meal. As part of the retreat we will provide 2 plant based lunches and three course evening meals every night of your stay. Light refreshments will also be provided throughout the weekend.

What should I bring to the Pilates Weekend?

Upon arrival you will receive an essentials pack that will include your own mat, band, socks and water bottle. This way you do not have to worry about transporting your personal Pilates equipment to the event and can save more of your luggage space for clothes.

We suggest bringing clothes that you will feel comfortable in because after all this is a weekend of pampering, unwinding and relaxing. For the Pilates sessions it is always best to wear appropriate clothing such as gym leggings or shorts. You can also bring some outfits for the three course evening meal if you fancy dressing up.

What makes reformer retreats different?

So, now we have more or less covered everything you can expect from our Pilates Weekend. The question you may now be asking yourself is what makes Reformer Retreats different from the other Pilates retreats out there?

Reformer Retreats are unique because we go beyond your usual pilates weekend break that only involves mat sessions. We provide 2 reformer classes over the course of the weekend too. The reformer classes use the specialist reformer equipment which allow you to perform more specific, individualised movements. This is beneficial for strengthening your core and giving you a balanced, full body workout. Using the reformer in combination with mat classes will help you achieve maximum results.

Another reason why reformer retreats are different is because the reformer is rarely seen in any locations outside of London. Participating in our retreat means you get to try out the reformer equipment (if you haven't already) outside of London, in a much more relaxing setting, with the addition of some truly stunning views.
