The Retreat
Some places stop you in your tracks. This is one of them.
Perched above the North Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay, our architect-designed beachfront house is the most extraordinary venue - and the setting for our flagship spring retreat. With its Scandi-industrial interiors, sweeping sea views, and a purpose-built Pilates studio whose sliding doors open directly onto the garden and fire pit, it was made for exactly this.
Four days that will challenge your body, restore your mind, and genuinely change how you move.
The Pilates
Led by Sophie and Louise - both classical teachers with a over 20 years pilates experience - your practice will be transformed across four days of structured and authentic work.
Each day brings a considered combination of duet sessions on Legacy Classical reformers and spine correctors, group mat classes and movement workshops. With just ten guests and two teachers, the attention to detail is exceptional. Whether you're deepening a long-established practice or experiencing classical apparatus work for the first time, you will leave with a deeper understanding of your Pilates practise and your own movement.
Sophie’s studio, Pilates Works, has been recommended by The Sunday Times Style Magazine. For the retreat, the reformers and Spine Correctors are transported directly from the studio to Cornwall — the same exceptional equipment and standards, set within a spectacular space framed by picture windows and sliding doors that blur the line between indoors and out.
Your movement programme includes:
- Four duet reformer sessions (Friday through Monday)
- Three wake up Pilates classes
- Three group mat sessions including a classical mat workout, magic circle class, and reformer-on-the-mat
Every detail of this retreat is considered. This includes a well balanced schedule of daily movement practices from duets on the reformer and spine correctors, to group mat classes. Meanwhile enjoy plant based creative brunches and fine-dining evening meals, a sauna by the sea session and beautiful coastal walks...This is an investment in you!
An holistic therapist will be on hand for treatments should you wish to book a massage, reflexology or facial.
There is an abundance of indoor and outdoor space within the house and its grounds, the centre piece is a stunning lounge with the most incredible sea views, a sunken private snug and a calm seating area looking back towards the gardens.
Outside, you’ll find a beautifully designed outdoor kitchen and dining space with a braai barbecue, a fire pit surrounded by seating, contemporary gardens and raised balconies that wrap around the house. Just a few steps away, the beach and coastal walking trails complete the setting. We always dress for the weather in spring, but hopefully in April/May, you will get plenty of fresh Cornish sea air whether you decide to walk the coastal paths or sit out on the balcony.
The Food
We believe food is as much a part of this retreat as the Pilates.
Our private chefs for the weekend are Georgie and Josh, a husband-and-wife team who have worked at Rick Stein's in Padstow, Michelin-starred Driftwood, and the celebrated Gidleigh Park. Classically and internationally trained, they cook with precision, creativity, and a deep respect for the ingredients they source from Cornish fishermen, farmers, and local suppliers.
Brunch is plant-based: vibrant, nourishing and designed to fuel your body. Dinners introduce a pescatarian option, celebrating the finest seasonal produce Cornwall has to offer.

On the final evening, the weekend culminates in an 6-course tasting menu - a genuine dining occasion, with an optional wine flight to match.
Every meal at this retreat is an event in itself.

The House
The architecture is bold and considered - a contemporary coastal house built with the landscape in mind, flooded with natural light, and filled with Scandi-influenced interiors: pale timbers, clean lines and a warmth that makes it feel like a home rather than a venue.
At its heart is a double-height sitting room with floor-to-ceiling views directly over the sea. Step outside and the beach is seconds away. The coastal path stretches in both directions.
Beyond the main spaces, the house offers a sunken snug, a beautifully designed outdoor kitchen and dining terrace with a braai BBQ, a fire pit, and raised balconies on multiple aspects.
The Wellness
Movement is just the beginning...
A private holistic massage therapist is on hand throughout the retreat, offering a full treatment menu including Raynor massage, Ayurvedic treatments and holistic facials (available to book in advance — early booking recommended as spaces fill quickly).
On Sunday morning, we take to the coast for Sauna by the Sea at Harlyn Bay - one of North Cornwall's most extraordinary experiences. Cold Atlantic air, a wood-fired sauna overlooking the water, and a quick run to the sea to cool off.
The Bedrooms
Sea View Rooms (Bedrooms 1 & 2)
Bedroom 1 — The Sea View Room
Set at the front of the house in its own private wing, this room enjoys the same framed sea view over the gardens. Finished in brilliant whites and soft greys, it can be configured as a double or twin. Its position makes it one of the quietest and most private rooms in the house.
Bedroom 2 — The Master Suite with sea view
Our finest room. Dual-aspect views take in both the beach and the surrounding gardens, with the sea visible from the bed. A generous king-sized room with large en-suite, triple wardrobes with an inviting day sofa.
Garden Rooms (Bedrooms 3, 4 & 5)
All rooms are bookable as double occupancy (shared).
Occupying their own wing on the ground floor, each with direct garden or terrace access and a private en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 3: High vaulted ceilings with vast sliding garden doors, a king-sized or twin configuration, and a sheepskin armchair.
Bedroom 4: A mirror of Bedroom 3, equally spacious, with a heavenly en-suite featuring a waterfall shower.
Bedroom 5: Minimal and striking, with Tadelakt Moroccan plasterwork in the en-suite, his-and-hers sinks, waterfall shower, and a free-standing bath.
Room 2: bookable as single or double occupancy. Rooms 1,3,4,5 are bookable as shared occupancy.
The Weekend Includes
- 3 nights' accommodation in our exclusive beachfront house.

- 6-course tasting menu on the final evening.

Getting Here
By Car: Porthcothan, North Cornwall, between Padstow and Newquay. Ample parking on-site, including an electric car charger.
By Train: Bodmin Parkway or St Austell — both approximately 35 minutes by taxi.
By Air: Newquay Airport is under 15 minutes away, with direct flights from London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, and Edinburgh.
